Chapter 200 – 1992-2020

Lian Qiao crawled out of the dog hole and had just walked around to the front gate of the school when he saw Little Apple who was wandering around the school gate.

“You!” Little Apple rushed over as soon as she saw him. Her eyes were wide open and she was obviously agitated, “Where did you and Xu RenDong go all night! Where is Xu RenDong!”

Her yell attracted the attention of the security guard at the school gate and the passers-by also stopped to watch curiously.

Lian Qiao blushed, thinking I can’t tell you we went to DOI last night, so he pulled Little Apple to hide. He was planning to placate her with some perfunctory words.

Little Apple obviously didn’t accept his nonsense and asked suspiciously why they didn’t come home last night.

Lian Qiao waved his hand to indicate that children should not ask more about the life of adults. This made Little Apple even more angry. She really wished she could take out the  watermelon knife on the spot and cut Lian Qiao’s head into eighteen petals.

Lian Qiao had a lingering night with RenDong last night and, at this moment, he was still immersed in the turmoil of physical and mental pleasure. He was too lazy to argue with Little Apple right now and just said with a smile that he was going to get some food for RenDong.

Lian Qiao’s stomach growled appropriately at this time. Little Apple couldn’t say anything right now since she couldn’t stop people from eating. Forced to hold back, her  face was full of displeasure.

The two were about to cross the road to the snack bar on the other side, but they heard the beeping sound of a police car suddenly coming from the corner of the street. The two turned their heads subconsciously and saw an escort police car roaring past in front of them with red and blue warning lights flashing on duty.

Lian Qiao knew at a glance that the car was empty so he couldn’t help being curious. He followed the police car with his eyes and saw that the police car quickly stopped at the entrance of the police station at the other corner of the block. Two policemen got out and walked straight into the station.

“It’s probably a transfer prisoner.” Seeing him staring over, Little Apple explained casually. “The monk and I went to explore the police station but we didn’t find anything special.”

Lian Qiao nodded. He had been to the police station on his first day on the block. He thought the instance would be like a Japanese RPG and would give them some side missions such as finding a lost necklace, but the police inside only asked him what help he needed.

Those policemen all look quite special… the city’s policemen are so enthusiastic that they don’t look like NPCs.

Lian Qiao finally returned, disappointed.

The only gain was that he saw there was a temporary detention center in the back of the police station, which was used to detain prisoners for a short period of time. The door of the detention center was locked and the police officer did not allow him to look around.

Lian Qiao was still thinking about whether he could find a chance to climb the wall and go in to have a look. Then he thought that: this is a police station after all and there is nowhere to hide. In order to avoid unwanted effects, he had no choice but to give up.

Afterwards, he went to chat with the policemen a few times and he even found out how many people were in his family and how many acres of land the policemen owned. However, he still hadn’t gotten any clues related to RenDong or the instance.

The policemen kept silent about RenDong. Even if Lian Qiao consciously brought the topic to RenDong, they just blinked and asked him who RenDong was.

As if RenDong was not the main character.

At this time, hearing Little Apple say that she also failed to get any clues at the police station, Lian Qiao was inexplicably suspicious.

Several people had already gathered beside the escort vehicle, all of whom were old neighbors who lived nearby. Lian Qiao walked into the crowd and asked a few questions, pretending to be curious. These neighbors quickly told him the answer.

It turned out that there was a delinquent girl locked up in the detention center. It was said that she was engaged in campus bullying and killed a female classmate from the same school. Today she was going to be transferred from the police station to the juvenile detention center.

That bad girl was a student of the technical school next door and also a big gangster girl in this neighborhood. She often wore heavy makeup, always laughing and joking with a group of men and women of similar age, and swaggered through the streets. The common people living in this neighborhood are quite dissatisfied with this group of people. They are afraid that their children will be spoiled by them and they are even more afraid that their children will be bullied by them at school.

Fortunately, there was a police station next to the school.

“The municipal renovation two years ago almost resulted in the police station being moved!” An old man watching the excitement spoke angrily, with his hands behind his back, “Although it was just going to move to the next block, it’s still far away from the school. If something happens, there’s no time to call the police!”

“That’s right.” Another old lady echoed, “It’s a good thing that the move didn’t happen in the end! Otherwise, these little bastards would have created trouble for sure!”

“This little girl has been bad since she was a child. Do you know that she had a miscarriage when she was in junior high…”

There was a lot of discussion among the people and they demoted the bad girl to incomparable lowliness. Lian Qiao listened quietly and suddenly heard the surrounding area quieten down.

Looking up, it turned out that someone came out of the police station.

It was the two policemen who got out of the escort vehicle just now. At this time, they were on the left and the right, with a young girl in the middle. The girl’s hair was disheveled and the heavy makeup on her face seemed to have not been removed for a long time. It was very greasy and her smoky makeup made her panda eyes appear dizzy.

This make-up is so hot that people can’t see her true appearance clearly. It would save a lot of embarrassment.

Everyone pointed at the girl. The girl didn’t care, she just lowered her head expressionlessly and got into the escort car.

She was still wearing a technical school uniform on her upper body but underneath was a red miniskirt. When Lian Qiao saw the bright red dress flashing past through the crowd watching, he was suffocated suddenly and felt a strange feeling for no reason.

He seemed to have seen it somewhere…

“Ugh!”

Here we go again.

Lian Qiao covered his head and squatted down in pain.

Little Apple was shocked: “Lian Qiao? What’s wrong with you? Your head hurts again?”

Lian Qiao bit his lip, suppressing the shuddering pain deep in his brain. He looked up and saw the door of the escort vehicle slam shut. It then drove the girl in the red skirt away from the block while the sirens blared.

Lian Qiao closed his eyes but felt the bright red skirt still shaking in front of him.

It hurt his eyes.

“Lian Qiao? Lian Qiao!” Little Apple kept yelling beside him, making a terrific noise.

Lian Qiao covered his ears and made a stop gesture, telling her not to bother him anymore. He still squatted on the ground with his head covered, trying to slowly recover from the headache.

Little Apple knew that he didn’t like her to touch him so she couldn’t help biting her lip, a hurt look flashing in her eyes.

However, she didn’t show anything in the end. She just reassured the well-meaning onlookers around them, saying that this was Lian Qiao’s old problem flaring up and not to worry about it.

After a few minutes, Lian Qiao gradually got better and stood up unsteadily from the ground.

Little Apple stuck her hands in her trouser pockets and didn’t reach out to support him. She just watched indifferently.

Lian Qiao looked around but couldn’t find a place to sit down and rest for a while, so he said to Little Apple: “I want to go back to the hotel first, can you…”

Before he finished speaking, he thought for a while, then shook his head and said, “Forget it, I’ll go buy it myself later. Anyway, there is still some time before he finishes class…”

Little Apple is very smart so she understood as soon as she heard these two sentences – Lian Qiao was worried that RenDong hadn’t eaten breakfast yet.

It’s already like this and he still thinks about whether someone else has had breakfast!

Little Apple bit her lip hard, suddenly feeling extremely aggrieved. She felt so aggrieved that she didn’t know herself right now.

She decided to go all out. She came up and grabbed Lian Qiao by the arm, and dragged him to the hotel.

“Huh?” Lian Qiao had been staggering along by himself but was caught off guard by Little Apple and dragged forward. The same goes for Little Apple. She didn’t support him well and just dragged him forward like a sack. Lian Qiao couldn’t barely stand still so now he staggered while being dragged by her, fearing that he would fall down within the next second.

“Slow down…” Lian Qiao couldn’t laugh or cry. “Can’t you be considerate to me since I’m a patient?”

“Stop talking nonsense.” Little Apple said irritably. “Aren’t you in a hurry to buy him breakfast? Go back and take the time to rest or he will find out that you are sick again in a while.”

Lian Qiao was taken aback.

Before he could figure out how Little Apple could guess what he was thinking, he was roughly dragged up to the second floor of the hotel and thrown on the bed like trash.

Little Apple really works miracles. Lian Qiao, who was 1.8 meters tall, was thrown on the bed by her. He was dizzy and dazed from the fall. In a trance, he felt that Little Apple had for unknown reasons adopted an attacking stance.

This woman won’t kill me while I’m sick, will she?

Lian Qiao rubbed his temples and sat up from the bed, still feeling dizzy in his head.

The burning sensation had faded away, replaced by a… um… indescribable… cracking sensation.

It’s not just the so-called “splitting headache.” He really felt that the depths of his brain were splitting open and something was trying to break open the cerebral cortex and crawl out from it.

The sensation made his scalp tingle. He realized that his headache was getting worse, as if something could not be suppressed and wanted to burst out of the ground.

The more I think about it, the more afraid I become.

But he didn’t want to show anything in front of Little Apple. He just rubbed his temples and said thank you with a smile.

“Have you quarreled with Xu RenDong?” Little Apple stood by the bed with her arms folded, looking down at him.

Lian Qiao was taken aback: “Quarrel? No, we are fine. Why do you ask?”

“Oh…” Little Apple had a weird expression on her face. She turned her head unnaturally, and said angrily, “It’s fine if you don’t quarrel, just pretend I didn’t ask.”

Lian Qiao knew she was lying just by seeing her expression. After thinking about it, he  roughly guessed it, and asked, “Did you tell him about the key?”

Little Apple turned her face away awkwardly, refusing to look at him and pursed her lips, as if it was very painful. After a while, she scratched her hair irritably and said angrily, “Yes, I told him. Why, do you want to jump up and beat me up? After all, such a big matter is not just about the two of you but also involves the Monk and I…”

Lian Qiao was not in the mood to listen to what she had to say but muttered to herself: “No wonder he took the initiative yesterday…”

Little Apple didn’t hear clearly, and asked, “What? What did you guys do yesterday? Did you really quarrel?”

Lian Qiao came back to his senses and smiled at her: “Don’t ask. Asking is just begging for dog food.”

Little Apple: “…” Damn it. Why do I talk so much?

Lian Qiao glanced at the time. There was still half an hour before RenDong got out of class. Thereforehe expressed that he wanted to take a nap and then get breakfast for RenDong.

Little Apple said “Oh” and was about to leave. Lian Qiao thought for a while, then stopped her and asked, “Where is the Monk?”

Little Apple: “Gone to work.”

Lian Qiao: “Then why didn’t you go to work too? Why were you wandering around the gate of RenDong’s school so early in the morning?”

Little Apple couldn’t hold back for a moment and gave him a big stink eye. She said, “I don’t want to work. I fucking want to kill you instead.”

Lian Qiao: “?”

Little Apple was getting weirder and weirder.

I thought you had a crush on me but I didn’t expect you to actually want to kill me!

Could it be that you… actually have a crush on RenDong?

You want to kill me because you wanted to inherit my RenDong?!

Aiyah!

The author has something to say: Why is this chapter 94.5%?

Because we have to distinguish it from 95% of the last time (laughs) {T/N: Sorry the author’s chapter titles includes a percentage showing how close to completion the instance is (as well as favorability index increases and decreases), I didn’t include it because it’s a spoiler since it also says when the instance is about to restart.}
